Neethling Brain Instruments

The Neethling Brain Instruments™ (NBI) can identify your thinking preferences.

The instruments were developed after extensive research on the left and right brain functions by Dr Kobus Neethling under the research guidance of Professor Paul Torrance of the University of Georgia.

In the late 1960s, research on the left and right brain hemispheres was done by Dr. Roger Sperry.

This was later followed by research on brain dominance by Ned Herrmann, Jaquelyn Wonder, Priscilla Donovan, Beverly Moore and others.

Research on the left and right brain hemispheres and brain dominance have shown that thinking processes can be clustered into four quadrants in the brain, with each quadrant dealing with different thinking processes.

Most people will use the four quadrants when they think but to varying degrees. Some will use one quadrant more than the other quadrants.

By analyzing which quadrant you prefer in your thinking process, you can deduce what are your behaviour preferences.

The NBI can give you an indication of:

  • how comfortable you are in a certain job
  • your relationship with other people
  • the way you do business
  • your communication style
  • your learning style
  • your problem solving approach

More than 200,000 adults and children have already been profiled by the NBI.

NBI profiles include standard profiles for adults, teachers, trainers, students and sportsmen, and supplementary profiles for skills, leadership, learning, creativity, job skills, parental skills, tennis skills and rugby skills.
